Caring for and giving back to the society is not only the principle and objective of Fosun but also the requirements of the Group to establish and nurture its corporate social responsibility and engineer a genuine and positive image.

In order to give back to the society, Fosun is always enthusiastically involved in social welfare events and has donated an aggregate of up to RMB40 million in the areas of: scholarships under the "Hope Project", education grants for students from poor families; donations to regions affected by floods; establishment of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum; subsidies to medical and insurance fund; Hope Elementary School” in Hainan Province; Construction of a teaching building complex in Fudan University and Phase II of Huang Di Tomb. The Group is devoting effort to fulfilling charity functions falling under its motto:cultivating ourselves, building our family, establishing our career and assisting the whole world.

	In Dec 2007, Fosun donated RMB 260 million to assist the building of ecological environment of Zhaoyuan, the city of Shangdong Province.
	In Aug 2007, Fosun donated RMB 93 thousand  to assist Special Olympics athletes.
	In Nov 2006, Fosun donated RMB15 million to CHINA Foundation for Guangcai Program (CFGP) to support the charity work of CFGP during its participation to the 20th Anniversary of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce.
	In March 2006, on behalf of the Chinese government, Fosun donated arteannuin and amodiaquine to the country of Liberia, provided assistance to the building and improvement of medical facilities in African countries and provide training for their medial staff.
	In Jan 2005, Fosun donated RMB1 million during the Shanghai Charity Night for Helping Tsunami-hit countries.
	In April 2004, Fosun donated RMB5 million for refurbishment of Phase II of Huang Di Tomb, showing Group's respect to the ancestor. The donation was being mainly used in repairing the cypress tree yard, Gongde Temple and Sacrifice Pavilion.
	In April 2003, Fosun donated RMB10 million to Fudan University for its construction of a teaching building complex of the College of Economics. One of the building complexes was named "Fosun Building".
	In May 2001, Fosun made donations for construction of school facilities in Wang Wei Hope Elementary School in the Linshui County of the Hainan Province.
